The Underground makes a roaring return with the latest edition of its famed Heavy series: an evening of four bands plumbing the depths of metal at Wave Music Studio.

Parallel Horizons

Beneath four walls festooned with guitars inside this unique venue, spooky synths and glittering electronicore will next mark the introduction of Fiester, a formidable five-piece who draw influence from across the rock spectrum.

Next, post-hardcore crew 曰央 Yeuk Yeung bring an aggressive onslaught, with dual vocals and intense rhythms combining with lyrics inspired by life in Hong Kong. Finally, from rotten exuviae will emerge Insects Wake 驚蟄 to unleash a biblical swarm of buffeting riffs and infest the room with lyrics influenced by the underworld.

Fiester

在別人眼中,搖滾是男生的玩意。Fiester的出現得到不同的注視,感覺女生的搖滾衣不稱身,所以Fiester的存在就是要抹去標籤,用我們的堅持感染每位接觸過我們的人。

Insects Wake 驚蟄

Rooted from thrash and melodic death metal, Insects Wake was brilliant at balancing the headbanging beats and rhythm with silky smooth melodies, making addictive riffs and verses that brainwashed the audience. The vocal’s roar and scream were indeed echoing the singing style of Arch Enemy in the later era, which emphasized more on the melodic perspectives of the compostions. Lyrics were mainly composed in English, in short phrases, describing the hellish world we are living. These illustrations were part of the reason why their songs are that charismatic.

Insects Wake, was referenced from the Chinese lunar calender, being the time when all creatures awaken in spring. This name fits the band so much, as they brought the sense of young power and energy to the audience through their music.  (Biography by Infree Records)
