LE CÈDRE D’OCTOBRE by Sélim Saab
2019 – Lebanon, France, 58 mn Arabic, French subtitles
On October 17, 2019, an unprecedented popular uprising took place in Lebanon. The Lebanese people took to the streets to denounce tax increases and to demand social justice as well as the downfall of a corrupt system. The October Cedar is not in any way a political analysis of this protest movement. It looks back at the first four months of the revolution and gives voice to activists, artists, protestors and to men and women of all ages and all faiths.
